Backpack is an addition to Domus by Escofet, the Catalan manufacturer of urban furniture. The addition makes a three-dimensional function of the piece, adding storage for all users of the society

Domus (...) allows the idea of a "shelter" in a single piece (...) protecting from the rain, shade in summer, and light at dusk
- Escofet

The backpack is shaped as an extrusion from the back of the original Domus, following its directions. The height and depth of the inner box protect it from the elements while maintaining accessibility and flexible functionality

The furniture is largely shaped by its production method- 3D printing. A tectonic system resembling the one of a garden playhouse in plastic solves the backpack in two parts; an outer shell and an inner box- all with the same material. The phasing of the assembly locks the system to the Domus as it hangs on its back, finally secured by a bolt in the bottom
